Invisalign® in Clay AL

The Original Clear Aligner System

Dr. Grovenstein and the Deerfoot Dental team want our patients to be healthy—but we also want them to love their smiles. If you’ve researched straightening your teeth lately, you’ve probably heard of Invisalign®. Over five million people have bigger, brighter smiles thanks to the clear aligners of this revolutionary orthodontics solution.

What Makes Invisalign Different?

Invisalign aligners are constructed of transparent medical-grade plastic that are very discreet since they sit flush with the teeth. No one needs to know you’re wearing braces—unless you tell them! Uncomfortable wires and brackets are a thing of the past, and since the aligners are removed for cleaning and eating, your oral hygiene routine and eating habits won’t need to change during treatment. How long does treatment take? Thanks to advanced technology and materials, the entire process averages about a year in length!

Am I A Candidate for Invisalign?

Dr. Grovenstein assesses your individual dental case at your initial consultation for Invisalign—every case is different. Not only can the Invisalign system reduce crowding and minimize unwanted gaps in teeth, it has the capability to correct crossbite, open bite, overbite and underbite. Invisalign isn’t appropriate for every situation, but it can help many!

What Else Can I Expect with Invisalign?

  • Aligners need to be worn 20-22 hours each day for the  best results
  • You can participate in your usual active hobbies and sports
  • There is less irritation than with traditional wire and metal braces
  • You can see and feel visible results throughout your treatment

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign’s aligners are custom-fitted to your mouth. When your first aligners are ready, Dr. Grovenstein makes sure they fit well and lets you know what happens next. Each set of aligners will be worn for one to two weeks depending on your individual treatment plan, and Deerfoot Dental will see you for checkups every six to eight weeks to address any concerns and give you the next set of aligners. You may experience temporary discomfort with each new set of aligners, which is normal; teeth are bones and they are being moved (slowly). As with other types of orthodontic treatment, you may need to wear a retainer afterward; Dr. Grovenstein can advise you about this in more detail when the time comes.
